Lithium pyroxene is widely used in lithium chemical, glass and ceramic industries
Lithium pyroxene is one of the main lithium-bearing minerals, also known as type 2 lithium pyroxene. Glass luster, stripes colorless. Hardness 6.5~7, density 3.03~3.22g/cm3 . Lithium pyroxene is mainly produced in lithium-rich granitic pegmatites, with co-occurring minerals such as quartz, sodium feldspar and microplagioclase. The crystals change color when heated or exposed to ultraviolet light, and lose their luster under sunlight. When roasted to about 1000℃, it rapidly transforms into β-type lithium pegmatite and has thermal cleavage property.
